method26 is a design studio on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
The name is the argument. Design gets sold as inspiration — a flash, a vision, an apex. It is not. It is a sequence of decisions made in order by people who have made them before. Get the sequence right and the work is good reliably, rather than occasionally.
You talk to the people doing the work, with nobody in between, and we turn down what we would do badly.
We also enjoy it, which turns out to matter.
the room
Sunset Boulevard, Silver Lake. Design desks at the front, the camera at the back, retouching in between — one room, one team, and no handoff between the people who conceive the work and the people who finish it.
Printing is the one stage that happens elsewhere, at presses we have worked with for years rather than whichever vendor is cheapest this month. We spec the stock, read the proof, and sign off the run. The job never changes hands. Only the address does.
