stage 04 — the method
Design and Print Production in Los Angeles
Collateral, books, catalogues, large format.
Printing is the one stage in the method that happens elsewhere. That is deliberate rather than a gap: the presses we use were chosen for the work rather than the price, and choosing well matters more than owning the machine.
What does not happen elsewhere is the responsibility. We specify the stock, read the proof, and sign off the run, so the job never changes hands — only the address does.

questions
- Do you own a press?
- No. Printing happens at presses we have worked with for years rather than whichever vendor is cheapest this month. We spec the stock, read the proof, and sign off the run.
- What does signing off the run mean for me?
- You approve a physical proof before anything runs. Always. What arrives should match what you approved, and one studio stays accountable for that.
- Can you take on print for design you did not do?
- Yes. Production management is a stage that can be used on its own.
