restaurant — menu and print
these are placeholder case studies — real projects replace them before launch
the problem
A menu is a piece of design that gets handled by two hundred people a night and reprinted every time a dish changes. The previous one was beautiful, uncoated, and unreadable by week two.
the approach
Stage 00 mostly involved arguing for less: a smaller format, fewer weights, and a stock chosen for wiping down rather than for feel in a portfolio. Food photography was shot in studio for the wine list and the window, not the menu itself — printed food photography at that size flatters nothing.
the result
A menu that reprints in three days without a design pass, on stock we specified and proofed at the press. Two and a half thousand covers, and the kitchen changes the insert itself.
